Seminar on Suicide Prevention among Students

TWGHs Student Guidance and Counselling Section organized a seminar on suicide prevention on 23 March 2016 to enhance the knowledge and skills in identifying and supporting students with suicidal ideation among teachers and school counsellors under the Group. A total of 110 teachers and school counsellors attended the Seminar. The guest speaker, psychiatrist Dr. May LAM, shared with the audience the major factors associated with student suicides and ways to identify and support students with suicidal ideation. In addition, Ms. Winnie CHAN, a clinical psychologist of TWGHs, introduced 2 programmes developed by the Student Guidance and Counselling Section to support adaptive mental health development, namely “Project on Positive Education for Secondary School Students” and “Project on Enhancing Mental Health among Secondary School Students”.


A total of 110 TWGHs teachers and counseling support personnel attended a seminar on suicide prevention among students.
