A small wind turbine is a device which converts the kinetic energy of the wind into rotational motion of the turbine rotor to drive an electric generator producing electricity. Small wind turbines are often used in remote locations, sometimes in conjunction with photovoltaic panels.
The Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF) relevant Vetting Subcommittee had approved a TWGHs school for installation of a small wind turbine as pilot project with total output power of about 1.5kW. The system will be connected to the electricity grid subject to the approval of power company. Details of the school and the work progress are listed below:
