Tung Wah had been given a grant of $1.1 million by the Sustainable Development Fund to carry out a 2Rs Express Recycling Project over a period of 24 months from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2009. Through the arrangement of recycling discarded clothes, toys and books, the project had created job opportunities for the underprivileged groups apart from fostering social network and promoting the concept of sustainable development within the community.
