Survey on the”Earth Citizen”Programme

One of the main themes of “Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to Move towards a Green Organization” is to promote and sustain Green living style of its stakeholders. Being a leading education group in Hong Kong, Tung Wah is dedicated to spread this green message to its students. A series of Green education programmes were approved by the ECF relevant vetting sub-committee for carrying out activities at Tung Wah’s nurseries and kindergartens on the theme of “Little Green Angel”, while at primiary schools and secondary schools on the theme of “Earth Citizen”.

The “Earth Citizens” Educational Programme aims at enhancing students’ attitude towards a more eco-friendly living style via different interactive projects, including “My
Earth Citizen” Passport, “My Earth Citizen” Facebook Group, “Eco Week”, “TWGHs Eco Walk”, Visits to Green Facilities at TWGHs Services Centres or outside organizations, “TWGHs Tree Planting Day”, programme webpages and online questionnaire. While the primary school programme will focus on fostering our students’ daily Green habits, the secondary school one is aimed at developing students into Green leaders and cultivating their critical thinking on various environmental issues throughout the programme period.

TWGHs is conducting a baseline survey for the “Earth Citizens” Educational Programme and has endeavored to carry out surveys for participants upon the completion of individual projects (please refer to the below table for details) in the future to assess the effectiveness as well as serving as a reference for future review.
