Assistant Human Resources Manager (Personnel Services)1

Location : Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Provide executive support on human resources matter including payroll administration, work injury/occupational disease cases, staff retirement schemes and personnel services and prepare draft documents such as papers/memos/circulars/reports for management’s approval to ensure efficient service is provided;
  • conduct research and review exercises of human resources policies, liaise with internal Divisions/Office/Section and external organizations for updating information and make recommendations on change of human resources policies to meet the corporate objectives and service/operational needs;
  • undertake the HR digitalization projects including but not limited to the revamping of Human Resources Information System and enhancement of the Automatic Workflows Administration Platform, collaborate with the ITD in the development, implementation and maintenance of the systems to advocate the automation of employee self-services;
  • coordinate cross-units regular/annual exercises and compile the recommendations for the management’s endorsement;
  • supervise subordinates and provide guidance/recommendation in daily operation on the improvement areas to maintain quality works and enhance the operational efficiency; and
  • undertake administration and other ad hoc projects/tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • A recognized degree or equivalent, preferably human resources management;
  • at least Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the HKCEE or equivalent;
  • at least 2 years of relevant working experiences;
  • well conversant with the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and related Ordinances;
  • preferably with knowledge in developing and operating human resources information systems;
  • preferably with working experiences in compensation and benefits area;
  • possession of supervisory experience would be an advantage;
  • proficiency in English and Chinese;
  • good communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • able to work independently with initiative and have strong sense of responsibility.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience.  The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.  Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
