Assistant Senior Human Resources Manager (Welfare & Event Management)

(REF: DH(HR)/ASHRM(W&EM)/NET)

Location: Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement staff welfare strategies/initiatives for cultivating team spirit, nurturing a caring culture in the workplace and retaining talents;
  • supervise welfare and event management teams to plan, design and organize around 16 staff welfare events, such as sports tournament, award ceremonies, annual dinner as well as social recreational activities per year (including design/edit graphics for promotion means);
  • conduct periodical review for streamlining the operation procedure and provide recommendations to optimize the staff welfare benefit schemes;
  • make recommendations for applications of staff welfare schemes and grants;
  • coordinate and provide administrative support to the Staff Welfare Committee/Staff Consultative Committee;
  • plan and formulate the yearly plan/budget of staff welfare for staff representatives’ consideration and management’s approval; and
  • lead a team to maintain a stable and productive workforce capable of handling day-to-day business and work on the ad hoc project as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • A recognized degree or equivalent;
  • at least Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the HKCEE or equivalent;
  • at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in event management/staff welfare schemes;
  • proficiency in written English and Chinese, and preferably spoken Putonghua;
  • a good team player with sound interpersonal skills, preferably with supervisory experience; and
  • able to work independently with initiative and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience.  The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.  Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
