Modernization Project of Tung Wah Hospital
Tung Wah Hospital has further enhanced hospital security by installing an access
control system and closed-circuit television in all inpatient and high-risk areas, such
as a car park, staff quarters, pharmacy department and flat roofs etc, to provide a
safer environment to patients and staff members.
Link Bridge and Lift Tower Project of TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital
To provide a barrier-free environment to patients, visitors and staff members,
TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital commenced the construction project to establish a
link bridge and lift tower among the Hospital, Sheung Fung Street and Wu York Yu
General Out-patient Clinic in March 2017. In addition, tactile guide paths, handrails
and accessible help-desks will be installed while the fire services facilities of the
Hospital will be enhanced.
Renovating Ophthalmic Ward and Staff Canteen of Tung Wah
Eastern Hospital
In order to enhance the ophthalmic services, the Ophthalmic Ward of Tung Wah
Eastern Hospital has underwent full scale renovation. The new ward design has
integrated with the latest elderly-friendly features and requirements of barrier free
access. The new layout consolidated the wards for inpatients, day cases and private
cases so as to optimise space utilisation.
In addition, to improve staff dining facilities, the Hospital conducted full renovation
of the staff canteen. The design focuses on creating a comfortable dining area,
with reheating and drinking facilities newly installed so as to enhance the working
environment.
Integrated Executive Walk-rounds of Tung Wah Eastern Hospital
Integrated Executive Walk-rounds were launched at Tung Wah Eastern Hospital
in April 2017. Management of the Hospital would visit different departments and
units on a quarterly basis to review departmental operations and the working
environment. Good practices and observations identified were shared among
staff members on different platforms for continuous improvement towards better
service quality.
Launching Patient Satisfaction Survey at TungWah Eastern Hospital
Tung Wah Eastern Hospital launched a “Patient Satisfaction Survey” between 31
July and 11 August 2017. Through collecting and evaluating patients’ feedback on
the Hospital’s inpatient services and related ancillary facilities, the Hospital could
achieve continuous service improvement.
End-of-life Services of TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital
TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital was dedicated to enhance the End-of-life care to
inpatients and participated actively in the End-of-life Programme with the aim to
provide the best possible treatment to elders so that their life journey could end
in a loving, comfortable and peaceful manner. In view of the increasing demand
for elderly inpatients’ End-of-life care, TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital introduced
the “End-of-life Clinical Plan for Inpatients (EOL-CPi)” in 2012 and adjusted the
service approach for elderly patients from curative to palliative. With the support
of the Hospital Authority, Ward 4A was changed to an independent ward with 8
beds exclusive for End-of-life services so that patients can enjoy serenity in a highly
private and comfortable environment. A total of 277 patients had been admitted to
Ward 4A by September 2017, accounted for an occupancy rate of over 80%. With
allocation from TWGHs Research Fund, the Hospital had conducted an evaluation
on the effectiveness of the programme and the results were published in the
Asian
Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics
. The study on the End-of-life service of Ward
4A was completed by the end of 2017.
東華醫院現代化計劃
東華醫院進一步加強保安系統，在所有住院病
人活動範圍及高危地方（包括停車場、員工宿
舍、藥劑部和屋頂平台等地點）安裝進出管理
系統和閉路電視，為病人和員工提供一個更安
全的環境。
東華三院黃大仙醫院進行行人天橋及
升降機工程
為病人、訪客及員工提供無障礙環境，東華三
院黃大仙醫院於2017年3月開展建設行人天橋
和升降機工程，以連接醫院、雙鳳街及伍若瑜
普通科門診診所。另外，亦將在院內加設引導
徑、扶手、暢通易達服務台及提升消防設施。
東華東院翻新眼科病房及員工飯堂
為提升眼科服務，東華東院眼科病房進行全面
翻新工程，加入多項「長者友善」的設計元
素及無障礙設施。新病房設計有效地整合住
院病房、日間病房及私家病房，善用空間。
另外，為改善員工用膳設施，東華東院為員工
飯堂進行全面翻新工程，裝修設計以打造舒適
的膳食空間為主，增設食物翻熱及飲水設施，
提升工作環境。
東華東院進行定期巡查
東華東院管理層於2017年4月開始，每季定期
到院內不同部門巡查，檢視各部門的運作及工
作環境。巡視完畢後，管理層於不同場合與職
員分享巡查結果及提出改善建議，從而提升服
務質素。
東華東院展開病人意見調查
東華東院於2017年7月31日至8月11日期間進
行「病人服務滿意度調查」，透過蒐集及分析
病人對該院住院服務及相關配套設施的滿意程
度及意見，以進一步提升服務質素。
東華三院馮堯敬醫院臨終照顧服務
東華三院馮堯敬醫院致力提昇住院臨終服務
及積極參與晚期醫護服務，讓長者在最後的
日子能夠獲得適切的照顧，圓滿地完成人生
旅程。鑒於住院長者對臨終照顧服務的需求
持續上升，東華三院馮堯敬醫院早於2012
東華三院黃大仙醫院行人天橋及升降機工程經已展開。
