As the largest charitable organization in Hong Kong, TWGHs not only provides members of the public with medical and health, education and community services, but also undertakes corporate social responsibility through promoting community welfare development, incorporating public interests in its major policies and services, and fulfilling the diversified needs of people in Hong Kong to build a harmonious society.
TWGHs is committed pursuing a total environmental approach in operating its medical and health, education and community services. In 2009, the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee gave an in-principle approval of TWGHs’ application for a grant for the programme “ Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to Move Towards a Green Orgnization”.
To capitalize on community resources, TWGHs endeavours to promote volunteer services in both private and public sectors.
TWGHs advocates an equal society. The Group has devised a corporate policy to promote the employment of people with disabilities and gives them higher consideration when hiring. Through the operation of a number of social enterprises, employment opportunities are provided for the underprivileged and promote social integration. In addition, TWGHs makes every effort to nurture talents through various means, such as supporting the student placements and internship programmes organized by different tertiary institutions.
TWGHs has partnered with Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and BOC Credit Card (International) Limited to roll out the BOC Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Credit Card. Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited will donate 0.3% of the retail spending by BOC Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Credit Card cardholders to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals for supporting its free medical services.
