TWGHs “Good People, Good Deeds English Story-Writing Competition”

TWGHs “Good People, Good Deeds English Story-Writing Competition” Award Presentation Ceremony 
With the major purpose of paying tribute to those who live up to our ideals and put into practice the universal moral values, as well as arousing students’ interest in English story writing, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals has organized the inter-school “Good People, Good Deeds”: English Story-Writing Competition which award presentation ceremony was held in the Hong Kong Institute of Education on 14 December in appreciation of students’ great work of English story writing.
 
In collaboration with the Education Bureau, the Faculty of Education of the Hong Kong University and the Hong Kong Institute of Education, the Competition is a part of the territory-wide campaign of “Hong Kong: Our Home”, which aimed at providing young writers with the opportunity to explore the world of writing, to stretch their imagination and most importantly, to advocate the caring for the vulnerable and to encourage serving the neediest. A total of 1,200 entries have been received from over 100 participating secondary and primary schools. Winners of the Senior, Middle and Junior levels, who were selected from around a thousand contestants, were invited to present their stories on stage during the ceremony. 
 
Mrs Katherine Ma, the 4th Vice-Chairman of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals cum Chairman of the Education Committee of the Group, extended heartfelt gratitude to the participating students at her welcoming address for their efforts in writing stories on how a person could make a difference simply by taking time to show love, appreciation and kindness to people around them, so as to promote the core values that support a harmonious society.
