Infinite Tung Wah Stories Start from “Home” – Healing Hearts

Employee engagement is an important driver of improved business performance.  By developing Tung Wah staff’s sense of pride about the organization and finding meaning in the work of helping people, they become passionate advocates of the caring culture.  For Tung Wah being the second home of our staff, on the one hand, Tung Wah is a caring and loving employer taking care of employees’ work-life issues.  On the other hand, employees are nurtured to provide quality service by treating clients like their next of kin – to put themselves into other people’s shoes.

A quadrilogy named “Infinite Tung Wah Stories Start from ‘Home’” has been launched to foster internal values and showcase the experience of meaning in work across service spectrum of Tung Wah.  The first video featuring the passion in and dedication to work of the caretaker of Tung Wah Coffin Home, Ms. WONG Ming-ming, is published on 31 January 2013.

The second video titled “Healing Hearts” highlights the story of Professor LIU Minru, who is now serving as Chinese Medicine Consultant at the Tung Wah Hospital-The University of Hong Kong Clinical Centre for Teaching and Research in Chinese Medicine.  Practising medicine for over 60 years, Professor Liu believes that a kind heart and medical skills are both essential to be a good doctor as she treats patients as her family members.  Her belief echoes the core value of Tung Wah Spirit.  Tung Wah’s staff members are encouraged to learn from Professor Liu: to deliver quality service by treating and caring clients like family members.  Professor Liu and Tung Wah both share the same faith in passing our treasurable traditions, namely Chinese Medicine and Tung Wah Spirit, to our next generations.
