Educational Psychologist II

Location: Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Provide psycho-educational assessment and intervention for students with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties;
  • provide consultation and support to school personnel and parents on intervention strategies and deliver appropriate programmes to accommodate students’ diverse educational needs;
  • support and develop schools to cater for student diversity;
  • support schools in managing crises and critical incidents;
  • conduct training and sharing activities;
  • participate in research and development work; and
  • perform other relevant duties as required.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • a first degree in Psychology from a local university or equivalent;
  • a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice) from a local university or equivalent;
  • full membership of the Division of Educational Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society or an equivalent status in an internationally recognized professional organization of Educational Psychology; and
  • proficient in Chinese and English.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $50,045 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 23).  Entry salary depends on years of recognized experience.  The salary is subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review.  The fringe benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.
