English Interview Workshop 2017
With a view to improving students’ English standard and to strengthen their job interview skills, as well as to help them develop a positive outlook on life, Mr Peter LAI continued to lead the English Interview Workshop this year. In 2017, there were 68 secondary 5 students from 16 Tung Wah secondary schools participating the workshop for five consecutive Saturday mornings from June to July 2017 in TWGHs Yow Kam Yuen College. The workshop was supported by passionate and experienced senior levels of business executives, professionals, retired senior government officials. Part 1 of the workshop was concluded with the characteristic of incorporating a mock downtown interview at one of the supporting corporations of Hang Seng Bank, Hong Kong Electric Company, Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority and Jardine Restaurant Group.
Part 2 of the workshop dealing with group discussion was conducted on three consecutive Saturday mornings in September 2017 and was concluded with a mock group discussion competition with the 3rd Vice Chairman cum Chairman of the Education Committee Ms Ginny MAN, Mr. John TSANG, the former Financial Secretary of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government etc. as adjudicators.
