第1屆「亞太區成癮專業人員會議」

第1屆「亞太區成癮專業人員會議」於2017年

5月18日至19日假香港理工大學舉行。會議

以「成癮綜合症之應用」為主題,為專業人士

提供一個互相交流預防和治療成癮問題的國

際平台。探討成癮的問題包括毒品、酒精、性

愛及色情、賭博、網上/離線遊戲、消費、偷

竊等。本院邀得食物及衞生局局長陳肇始教

授擔任主禮嘉賓,及成癮綜合症模式的始創人

Howard Shaffer博士發表主題演說,介紹成癮

綜合症模式的最新發展。

優勢模式:

精神健康服務的應用、研究及訓練

本院參考西方的經驗,在精神復康服務中引入

優勢模式,為復康人士帶來希望,讓他們以正

面的角度檢視他們的能力和優點,雖然他們的

精神或情緒病徵仍在,但他們可以為自己訂下

目標,為更佳的生活質素而努力。14名主管及

35名前線同工每月接受香港大學優勢模式的

訓練,讓長期護理院及精神健康綜合社區中心

的服務使用者能夠得到適切的服務。

透過進行研究、會議、海外視察及

交流計劃,提升專業形象及水平

應用創新科技照顧長者及殘疾人士 –

日本學習交流團

本院的社會服務科於2017年9月25日至30日舉

辦日本交流團,安排22名專業員工前往當地,

學習創新科技發展如何應用於社會服務。交流

團除了參觀全亞洲最大型的國際福祉機器展覽

會外,亦訪問當地安老院及醫院,交流如何利用

先進科技及設備,改善長者及殘疾人士的生活。

「藝術統合X智能障礙」工作坊及座談會

「愛不同藝術」邀請臺北市藝術統合教育研究

會創辦人林絲緞老師在2017年8月3日至5日期

間到港,為東華三院員工及業界舉辦有關舞

動的工作坊及座談會。林老師除了生動地分享

心得外,還親身示範如何通過舞蹈,紓緩智障

人士的情緒,百多名參加者深受啟發。

Study Tour to Japan on Innovative

Technology in Social Services

TWGHs Community Services Division

organised a study tour to Japan for 22 staff

members to learn more about innovative

technology and its application in the social

service industry from 25 to 30 September

2017. Visits to the largest International Home

Care and Rehabilitation Exhibition in Asia,

elderly homes and hospitals were arranged

to explore how technology can improve the

quality of life of the elderly and the disabled.

Art Training on Body Movement

i-dArt invited Ms. LIN Si Duan, founder of The Integrated Arts Education Association

of Taipei, to organise a trainingworkshop and seminar on body movement for people

with intellectual disabilities and attended by TWGHs rehabilitation staff and industry

peers. TheWorkshop was held from3 to 5 August 2017. Ms. LIN shared her experience

in dancing with people with different abilities, which was a great inspiration for

all participants.

The 1st Asia-Pacific Conference for Addiction Professionals

The 1st Asia-Pacific Conference of Addiction Professionals (APCAP) was held from

18 to 19 May 2017 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. With the theme of

“Application of the Syndrome Model”, APCAP is an international platform dedicated

to exchanging and advancing knowledge and skills in prevention and treatment of

various addiction expressions, such as drugs, alcohol, sex and pornography, gambling,

on-line/off-line gaming, compulsive spending, stealing, etc., with Prof. the Hon

CHAN Siu Chee, Sophia, JP, Secretary for Food and Health, officiating, and Dr. Howard

SHAFFER, founder of the Syndrome Model, as the speaker to deliver a keynote speech

on the new development of the Syndrome Model.

The Strengths Model:

Application, Research and Training for Mental Health

To improve quality of life, the Strengths Model has been employed in the mental health

services of TWGHs, with an aim to develop the strengths and resilience of people with

mental disabilities, even if the symptoms of the illness may still be present. Monthly

training on the application of the Strengths Model was held at The University of Hong

Kong with academic support from Prof. Samson TSE and Dr. Rick GOSCHA. A total of

14 supervisory staff members and 35 frontline staff members have received regular

training at the University to provide appropriate service to the service users of Long Stay

Care Home and Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness.
