Man Mo Parade and Autumn Sacrificial Rites
In commemoration of the 170th Anniversary of Man Mo Temple and the 20th
Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region, TWGHs organised theManMo Parade and the Autumn Sacrificial Rites
on 5th November. The Hon. LAU Kong Wah, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs,
was invited to officiate at the Kick-off Ceremony. The spectacular procession
was formed by 20 teams of performers and nearly 1,000 participants, featuring
Dragon and Lion Dances, Techno Dance of Deity, street dance, rope skipping,
tai chi, ethical dance and marching band. The representatives of the renowned
temples from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau were also invited to attend the
Ceremony so as to promote the Event to overseas areas.
Accompanied by the Board of Directors, the sedan chairs carrying the 2
deities, Man Ti and Mo Ti, led the procession, which started at the Statue
Square, Central and moved along Bank Street, Queen’s Road Central, the
historic Possession Street and Hollywood Road. It finally arrived at Man Mo
Temple, where the Autumn Sacrificial Rites were held to pray for peace and
prosperity for the people of Hong Kong.
Performing the Autumn Sacrificial Rites was Mr. LAI Sze Nuen, SBS, JP,
Chairman 1969/1970, accompanied by Dr. LEE Yuk Lun, JP, the Chairman, and
other Board Members officiating at the Ceremony and performing the rites,
while Prof. CHOWChun Kay, Stephen, GBS, JP, member of the Advisory Board
cum Chairman 2001/2002, read the sacrificial odes and Mr. YU Shiu Tin, Paul,
BBS, JP, Member of the Advisory Board cum Chairman 1988/1989, served as
the Master of Ceremonies.

文武二帝出巡 秋祭典禮
為慶祝東華三院文武廟啟建170周年及香港特
區政府成立20周年紀念，東華三院於2017年
11月5日舉行「文武二帝出巡」活動，邀得民
政事務局局長劉江華太平紳士主禮。是次巡遊
共有20支表演隊伍及近千名巡遊者參與。巡
遊隊伍表演項目包括龍獅隊及電音三太子、街
舞、花式跳繩、太極、中國舞、民族舞、銀樂
隊及步操樂團等，場面熱鬧浩大。其中，更有
來自香港、台灣及澳門兩岸三地的宮觀代表
光臨出席，令活動由本港推展至海內外華人。
巡遊由中環皇后像廣場出發，以董事局成員與
載有文武二帝神像的鑾輿為首，路經銀行街、
皇后大道中，以及有悠久歷史的水坑口街和荷
李活道，朝向文武廟進發，最後以文武廟為終
站，隨即於廟內舉行奉祀文武二帝秋祭典禮，
為香港市民祈福消災，祝願香港繁榮安定。
秋祭典禮邀得東華三院己酉年主席黎時煖SBS
太平紳士主祭，主席李鋈麟博士太平紳士暨全
體董事局成員陪祭，並由東華三院顧問暨辛巳
年主席周振基教授GBS太平紳士擔任頌祝者
及東華三院顧問暨戊辰年主席余嘯天BBS太平
紳士出任贊禮者。
