成立東華三院首間年輕長者服務
發展中心 - 越齡
東華三院首間為年輕長者而設的服務發展中心─
「越齡」，位於港島東筲箕灣，已於2017年12月
正式投入服務，為年輕長者提供一個專屬的平
台，讓他們透過挑戰自我及緊貼潮流的多元化
活動，發展潛能，突破年齡界限，與不同年齡層
和文化背景的人互動，從而提升自信，以個人專
長回饋社會。中心設有別緻的小型咖啡閣、富
文青氣息的休憩空間和配備先進音響的多功能
活動室，支援不同的學習工作坊、藝術表演或
音樂活動。至今，中心的會員人數已接近300人。
東華三院越齡以「綠在越齡三部曲」作為連串
活動的頭炮，讓年輕長者義工前往民居收集舊
衣物，然後運用智慧把舊衣循環再造成日用品
銷售，以向社區傳達環保意識，喚醒社區人士
身體力行實踐環保，同時培育年輕長者成為環
保新勢力。這項計劃獲得超過200人參與。
「認知障礙症‧生活攻略」新書發布會
成立於2011年的東華三院渣打香港150周年慈
善基金長者智晴坊，把累積多年的認知障礙症服
務經驗集結，出版《認知障礙症‧生活攻略》。
新書以「衣食住行」為主題，就日常照顧患者所
遇到的困難提出解決方法，並提供生活化的認
知訓練遊戲，以啟發護理者尋求不同的照顧方
案，延緩患者的衰退速度。
新書發布會於2018年2月10日舉行，由渣打銀
行（香港）有限公司大中華及北亞地區公共事
務、品牌及市場推廣主管莫毅信先生及高錕
慈善基金主席高黃美芸女士主禮。當日亦設
有「模擬認知訓練體驗館」，讓護理者從中體
驗及學習將認知訓練融入日常生活。中心亦會
舉行到戶義工服務，以推廣此書予認知障礙症
患者的家屬，協助他們照顧患者。
Setting Up Pilot Young Old Service
Development Centre - TWGHs Engage
TWGHs’ first young old service development centre named “Engage” is located at
Shau Kei Wan of Hong Kong East and was officially launched in December 2017.
Through diverse self-challenging and up-to-date activities, the initiative enables
the young old to further develop their potentials, go beyond age boundaries
and interact with people from all walks of life. In return they can achieve self-
actualisation and serve the community with their best knowledge and expertise.
The Centre features a stylish coffee bar, a cosy seating area and multi-functional
rooms with advanced audio-visual and lighting equipment where different
learning workshops, performances and music activities can be conducted. The
Centre so far has almost 300 members.
TWGHs Engage kick-started a year-round programme of activities with a thematic
project on Green Style. The Project attracted 200 young old members who gathered
used clothes from the community and utilised their professional knowledge
to recreate them into home necessities for sale. The activity aimed at arousing
community awareness of environmental protection by promoting an eco-friendly
lifestyle and educating the young old to become green pioneers.
“Handbook on Daily Caregiving for Elders with Dementia”
Book Launched
Established in 2011, TWGHs Standard Chartered Hong Kong 150th Anniversary
Community Foundation Alzheimer’s Community Support Centre published a
new book
Handbook on Daily Caregiving for Elders with Dementia
to share its
experience in dementia care services. Covering 4 major activities of daily living,
including clothing, food, accommodation and transportation, the book provides
solutions for caregivers having difficulty in taking care of the elderly with dementia.
A variety of cognitive games and articles by different professionals are also featured
in the book so as to inspire caregivers for dementia patients to explore different care
solutions to improve care and delay the deterioration of dementia in the elderly.
The Launch Ceremony was held on 10 February 2018 with Mr. Esmond MOK,
Regional Head, Corporate Affairs & Brand and Marketing, GCNA, Standard
Chartered Bank, and Mrs. KAO May Wan Gwen, Chairman of the Charles K. Kao
Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease, officiating. Experiential cognitive training in a
“Simulated Home Environment” was set up to educate caregivers to incorporate
cognitive training into daily lives. Home volunteer services were arranged to
promote the Handbook to caregivers for dementia patients.
