Location: Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Inspect work-sites, attend site meetings, examine work progress schedules and reports to monitor the work of contractors for construction and renovation projects and maintenance works;
  • provide professional advices and take appropriate actions to rectify technical problems encountered on sites;
  • coordinate and liaise with nominated sub-contractors, consultants, suppliers and user Divisions/Office;
  • check, report and rectify discrepancies found on drawings, specifications and invoices before certifying and recommending payments for superior’s approval;
  • check building defects, identify discrepancies on site and take appropriate actions to rectify building defects before and during the handover of the finished work;
  • prepare cost estimation, tender documents and specifications for minor works for superior’s review and approval;
  • prepare rough sketches and outline working drawings for superior’s review and approval; and
  • supervise and provide guidance to subordinates.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • (a) Diploma in Building Studies from a recognized institute, plus 10 years’ experience in building projects with 6 years among which are at supervisory level; or
    (b) Certificate in Building Studies from a recognized institute, plus 12 years’ experience in building projects with 8 years among which are at supervisory level;
  • technical competency and good interpersonal skills; and
  • fluent in spoken and written Chinese and English.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience.  Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
