Location: Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Lead TWGHs’ secondary schools to comply with directives from the Education Bureau (EDB) and Education Ordinance, align with the TWGHs’ education policies by providing recommendations and advisory support to the respective Incorporated Management Committees (IMCs);
  • advise on operational, personnel and financial matters pertaining to TWGHs’ secondary schools in support of the respective IMCs to make major decisions in compliance with government policies, directives or regulations;
  • recommend and advise on the key areas of improvement to be incorporated in the annual development plan by benchmarking the performance of secondary schools against the performance indicators set by the EDB to pursue excellent performance and a positive image for the schools;
  • oversee and monitor the “Planning-Implementation-Evaluation cycle” by evaluating the secondary schools’ Annual Plan and Annual Report in alignment with the TWGHs’ education strategies and direction;
  • coordinate, implement and monitor the funded training programmes/initiatives for the school management teams and teaching staff to achieve continuous professional development;
  • organize sharing sessions on education related matters and initiatives for education staff by co-ordinating with different bodies and schools;
  • conduct data analyses of secondary schools for the Head of Education Division in developing education strategies, directions and decisions; and
  • organize and coordinate education services related activities/competitions/ceremonies.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • a recognized degree or equivalent with post-graduate certificate/diploma in Education and/or a relevant higher degree in education;
  • minimum 10 years’ school teaching experience with 5 years at a senior level in education administration;
  • good knowledge of the Education Ordinance, the Code of Aid and the regulations pertaining of the management of school is required;
  • proficient in English and Chinese; and
  • proven leadership, good communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience.  The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.  Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
