Location: Sheung Wan

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the major roles and responsibilities of the Head of Corporate Communications Division include:

  • provide professional advice on the corporate communication directions of Tung Wah;
  • develop and execute strategic corporate communication plan;
  • manage the Group’s communication portfolio, provide centralized public relations service and propose effective approach for enhancing the image of the Group;
  • coordinate with relevant government bureaux/departments and public bodies for planning of publicity coverage and corporate responses;
  • drive extensive stakeholder engagements with external parties, such as members of the Legislative Council, key opinion leaders, local community groups and academia;
  • keep abreast of industry trends, issues, government policies through media monitoring, identify issues and opportunities, manage public communications in the event of incidents, recommend appropriate and timely actions for ensuring effective risk management;
  • oversee the corporate website and all corporate communication materials; drive projects and programmes in collaboration with Mainland stakeholders and ensure its effective implementation so as to maximize publicity impact and awareness;
  • establish and maintain effective networking with the media and stakeholders; and
  • lead the Corporate Communications team in the daily operation, planning and execution of public relations campaign, publicity events and exhibition activities.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • a recognized degree or equivalent;
  • at least 15 years of experience in senior corporate communications/event management;
  • solid experience and knowledge in communications, branding development and crisis management;
  • strong communications and interpersonal skills;
  • excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • goal-oriented and multi-tasking abilities with strong analytical skills; and
  • a close network with the media and thorough understanding of media operations as well as the latest development on communication channels or new media.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience.  The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.  Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  The incumbent will normally work on a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
